Excellent value but not perfect.
By Anthony
I've been using this tablet for a week so far and it's the 4th android tablet I've owned.
I was a little leery about ordering a package that shipped directly from China but it arrived in perfect shape with the correct (USA) charger. Besides the charger, it came with a set of earbuds and nothing else--not even a manual. Though I found an English PDF manual copied to the tablet's internal flash. Still, if this is someone's 1st tablet, they might get confused.
The M6's screen is flawless with excellent color gamut, no dead pixels, and is very responsive.
The sound however is an issue (and the reason it gets 4 instead of 5 stars) The built in speakers simply don't get loud enough. At max, the volume is about equal to other tablets at their "halfway" setting and 1 speaker is noticeably louder than the other at all volume settings. I've looked online and weak, poorly balanced speakers are a very common issue with this model. FWIW If you plug in a set of headphones however, everything sounds perfect--both volume and balance.
The camera's are....adequate but nothing special.
WiFi detection range is very good.
Tried out all the ports (micro-sd, mini-HDMI, micro-USB, etc) everything worked fine. The charger is a little strange in that it uses a unique type of plug with its own socket even though the tablet already has a micro-usb port built in. Most tablets I've used just charge from that.
I've tried about 2 dozen Amazon and Google Play games and apps as well as a bunch of songs and manually converted SD + HD videos. Everything worked perfectly with the exception of the Netflix app. During playback Netflix's video will de-interlace in a strange way that makes it unwatchable. Note this is a known problem with the Netflix app on many RK3188 based systems running Android 4.2.2 --not just this tablet. Hopefully Netflix will issue a new version/patch that fixes the issue or I'll just try to find an older version of the app.
Also, although the tablet technically has 16GB of built in flash, it allocates it poorly with only about a 2GB partition for installing apps. So if you need more than that, you have to do the "move app to SD" trick in the settings menu in order to move apps to another partition.
The only other quirk I've noticed is sometimes when waking the tablet from sleep mode, the wifi doesn't wake. When that happens, I need to manually turn wifi off/on to get to to activate properly.
I was originally planning to root this tablet but am now undecided as it currently does everything I want. Will update If I root it.
