5Top Notch
By Happy
I bought this tablet and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 for the back camera. Both are great but I had an issue with the battery life of the Samsung. On the other hand I watch movies and play games all day with my Nexus and no problem. It is super fast, screen quality is great ( did a side by side comparison with the samsung) and the new jelly bean 4.2 overall experience is smooth. Don't get me wrong the Samsung Tab 2 7.0 is great but I will definetly buy another ]Nexus model when they announce it this year and give this one to my wife (she fights me for it everynight).

5World Class!
By I love Linux
The Nexus 7 is what the Android world has been waiting on. The stock ROM is solid and unlike many of the lessor tablets is fine as is.
Several of the custom ROMS are excellent though. Look on the XDA website or Slatedroid. I have several of the unbranded Asian tablets
all run Jellybean but the experience on the Nexus 7 is better. Yes, I know it lacks a SD card slot but... there are many free Cloud storage options including Microsoft's Skydrive or Google drive. Both offer several gb of free storage and inexpensive plans for more. So what can
you do with your Nexus 7? Make free phone calls for one. Android has apps for that! A ROM for those that don't know: [...]
How does this compare to the Nook HD, Kindle HD and other tablets? Glad you asked. The Nook and Kindle are both limited until you Root them.
[...] This is a well made device. Beautiful, sharp and vivid screen. The stock browser is
fast but Chrome and Firefox are also available as well as Opera. Well what about Flash? If you must have it there is a apk that will allow users to have it. Rooting is required and the Puffin browser does work along with Skyfire. So what about the iPad Mini? The Mini is a great device as well but is more expensive. The Nexus 7 screen is sharper and web browsing seems about the same on both. I compared them at a Apple store as I don't own a iPad Mini. Comparing Android to a IOS device is difficult because they will appeal to very different users sometimes. In my view Android is more customizable. I can play all my LEGALLY purchased videos and music with ease. All formats work.
AVI, MKV... If you are on a budget as many of us are. Consider the Nexus 7

3Don't they test these things before they leave the factory?
By R. Valdez
When I received mine, it would not turn on (pixel-dust) and would not take a charge. I did some research online and found out that many of these left the factory with the battery connector not quite seated all the way. A website showed me how to open it up (hard at first, then easy) and there was my battery connectory - half-way on and half-way off. I pushed it home, put the cover back on and pushed the power button. BINGO!

Should NOT have to do that with a $300 purchase. Good thing the guts are accessible. The good news is, if/when your battery dies, it is very simple to replace it!

I can't link to the web page that showed me how to fix it, but if you want to find it, just Google "Nexus 7 Teardown" and look for the iFixit page. It will probably be the first one.

If I was not a tinkerer, I would have been VERY upset with this purchase!!!
