E reader plus
By B H
I found this for $100, impulsively I bought it. Now the skinny... As a E-reader it is really decent. Not blazing fast but not slow about the same as 1st gen iPad. I use FBReader which is installed but you can not update it,bummer but it works. You can use the buttons on the left and right of the screen to flip pages or use the touchscreen which you know, SMUDGING. As a reader it works well.
SD card slot not micro. I have tons of those so I put some movies in various formats. All played smoothly and with out hiccups much better than my Asus Transformer. The sound is decent with headphones and is listenable with the included cover in a low volume room.
It was easy to set up with exchange and other email accounts as well as WiFi. Wifi works quite well and in the two weeks of use I have not had any Wifi issues like other Android tablet users. I used Nextbook in my domicile as well as downtown Wifi hotspots.
While it doesn't have access to Android Market it does have access to SlideMe market. While many will complain that you don't have the same amount of apps on SlideMe. You will find that all the dreck that is on Android Market; you know the crap apps SlideMe has filter out most of that crap. There on tons of Free apps and Paid apps that have used before and don't mind paying again. I have tried to no avail to use Amazon Market when I first purchased it but SlideMe was very adequate.
The is no camera...who cares...No GPS...Don't want to be tracked...no Calendar...which I can not sync with exchange...oh well, almost perfect. If I could I would not even use My Asus Transformer in which in the past two weeks I haven't really. I like the size of the unit and is very portable and doesn't look as goofy reading in a pub or restaurant as the Transformer does. The Transformer is a better tablet but I like this Nextbook better.
As a person that just wants to read some books. Little web surfing and receiving and sending emails the Nextbook6 works fine. If you are a power user or someone that plays alot of games this is not your device.

Just What I Wanted
By Laina
I was looking for a replacement for my first e-reader. I wanted something with a faster processor that allowed me to play games and browse The Net. But the function I wanted the most was the ability to delete things off the device without having to connect it to a computer first. This tablet does that and more.
A few words of advice: When you first take the tablet out of the package, DON'T REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE PLASTIC COVER! Leaving it on will keep your screen lint and fingerprint free until you find a better screen protector. I've had my tablet for about 3 weeks and still haven't found a protector I like. But the plastic cover that came with it is still holding up; though bubbles are starting to form.
Also, "Button Savior" is a must. When you download some games and apps, it takes over the entire screen. Without "button savior", the only way out is to turn off the device. Too, there's not a volume button available on the home page. Again, maybe I just haven't figured that out yet.
This might be helpful to know, you can download apps from 'SlideMe' to an SD Card (purchased separately). When you connect Next6 to a PC, the SD Card shows up as a removable drive. Just go to SlideMe on your PC and save the apps onto the SD Card drive. From there, the apps can be installed to Next6. This helps get around that pesky 'internal file space' problem I kept running in to. And for your device's safety, I suggest only using SlideMe apps. It's a safe site. Even then, you may get a blue screen with a box covered in question marks. I learned that means the app isn't compatable.
The only things I don't like (so far): I can't figure out how to make my book list stay in alphabetical order. It drives me bonkers. And I cannot for the life of me get the 'bookmark' to work. Otherwise, I love the look and function of the e-reader.
Lastly, if you want a good and thorough review, this lady's is what really convinced me to buy it: accidentalmommies.com/next6-nextbook-android-tablet. For the price and for what it does, I don't think you can go wrong with this tablet.

Piece of junk
By Vidal Francisco
I bought it for my kids, to play videos while driving long distances. This piece of junk just broke a couple of months after purcharse, and with very little usage. Also you can't download any games, or upgrade firmware/OS. Stay away from this product.
