You CAN install the Google Play Store on this tablet

This tablet does not include access to the Google Play Store. However, since it is an Android tablet, you CAN install the Google Play app, and, from there, install and run most of apps from that app store.
(1) On a regular computer, use a search engine to find the Google Play 4.1.6 APK file. Download it to your computer.
(2) Copy the APK file to a microSD card. I like the SanDisk Ultra 32 GB MicroSDHC Card or SanDisk Ultra 16 GB MicroSDHC Card because they include a regular SD size adaptor that will fit the SD slot on your laptop (not all PCs have a microSD slot). If you like, you can create a folder on the microSD card and place the SDK file there.
(3) On your tablet, under "Settings" => "Security", make sure that "Unknown sources" is checked.
(4) Insert the microSD card into your tablet's slot. Don't push it in past the ridge, or it may be difficult to remove it.
(5) I did not have to explicitly "mount" my microSD card. It was automatically mounted when I powered on my tablet. If you ever want to remove the SD card, make sure that you "unmount" it first. "Mounting" is a UNIX operating system function for bringing an external device, such as a SD card, online.
(6) Using the "Explorer" app that is included on the tablet, navigate to the APK file that you placed on the SD file, and click on it. It should automatically install the Google Play Store.
(7) Click on the Google Play Store icon whenever you want to go there.
Following is my review of the Xelio 7 tablet:
For the price, this is an excellent tablet. It might not be a high-powered tablet, but it is a low cost way to get your feet wet with Android. The screen is quite responsive and clear, and it has all the Android Jelly Bean functionality. The built-in modem is a little weak. In my house, the tablet only works on the same level of the house that my wireless router is on. That is not a serious constraint, but I cannot relax in bed and use the tablet.
This tablet only has a front-facing camera. I would rather take photos of scenery and other people, than to be staring at my own face. Therefore, I would have preferred a rear-facing camera. I did install a palm reading app from the Google Play Store, and it worked fine, although it was awkward photographing my palm with a front-facing camera. For the same reason, it would also be awkward to use the tablet to remotely deposit checks into one's bank account.
Of course this tablet is WiFi only (no 3G or 4G), as advertised.

Don't Be Scared!

My husband bought this for me as a birthday present. It was the only thing I'd asked for. He ordered it from somewhere else, but it is definitely the best gift I ever requested and received.
When I got the device, I expected a bit of a learning curve. I also expected to have to wait til it charged. Instead, the tablet worked right out of the box... It had a 46% charge already, and it was so easy to use I didn't even have to look at the instruction booklet.
I had wanted a tablet primarily to read books, check email and facebook, things like that. The marketplace is easy to use, and although it doesn't have nearly as many available apps as google playstore, it had what i wanted. Within a few minutes I had downloaded the Kindle app, Netflix, Facebook, Pandora, and had my email and other accounts set up. I also downloaded and installed a 5 band equalizer for audio, although I haven't tried it out yet.
I can't imagine paying hundreds of dollars for a tablet with a name brand. And since this one had so many 4 and 5 star reviews (on walmart's website, and the bad reviews were mostly complaints about not working with google playstore), I figured I couldn't go wrong at this price. It boots up and loads apps very fast. It has a front facing camera so that I can skype with my kids and grandkids. I love, love, love my xelio! Since I use it primarily for reading, the battery lasts all day without a problem.

GREAT TABLET! PURCHASED 5 OF THEM. Read for easy step by step instructions for installing Google Play Store

I was able to buy the tablets for about $35 each delivered so I purchased 5 of them on Black Friday as Christmas gifts. I also purchased the screen protectors. Turns out... this is a FANTASTIC little tablet (to my surprise). I was buying for a 4, 5, 7 and 8 year old so my expectations were pretty low. If it kept the boys happy and learning then I would be happy. I also purchased one for myself since the price was so great. Well, I am EXTREMELY HAPPY with this purchase! I personalized each tablet with the boy's favorite game and learning apps. Also changed the wall paper on each so everyone will know which tablet belongs to whom. I can't wait until the boys open their presents. I am sure I won't see them for the rest of the day.
One thing that I noticed is that the internet runs a little slower than my 4G phone but other than that it is perfect. You just need to be a little more patient and the page will load for you. Wifi picks up all available networks with ease anywhere in my single story house. Touch screen is very responsive. Screen size is nice. Screen colors and screen clarity are also great. Web camera is basic but works. One caveat...The tablets do not come with the Google Play Store preloaded. Here are some simple step by step instructions for downloading it. I was able to download directly to the tablet which was much easier than using an sd card as mentioned in another review. Here are the instructions for anyone who wants to do what I did. I have downloaded many apps from Google Play and all are working great. If you want a nice inexpensive tablet that does everything most people will do then STOP LOOKING...this is your tablet :) It's great for web surfing, Facebook, Ebay, Amazon, shopping, reading books and gaming. Hope this helps :) Enjoy!
TO DOWNLOAD GOOGLE PLAY STORE DIRECTLY TO TABLET
1. On your tablet, under "Settings" => "Security", make sure that "Unknown sources" box is checked.
2. Add your internet network and password to tablet.
3. Open up the browser.
4. Use a search engine to find the Google Play 4.1.6 APK file.
5. Download it to your tablet. (I used www.4shared.com/file/WNfXiUrS/googleplaystore416.html with my Google+ login)
6. Install from downloads by clicking near clock (bottom right corner) to pull up downloaded files and then clicking Google Play Store
6. Once installed you may use the Google Play Store.
