wopad i7

Yes, I really have this. I was searching around for a first tablet when I came upon this. All the reviews were great. and the price was cheap. Other cheap tablets had some not so good reviews. Even though I wasn't seriously shopping, I hastily bought it. It comes from Hong Kong, so shipping takes a while. One day while waiting, I went back to the reviews, and to my horror I realized that none of them were "verified purchases"! I just got duped! And that's not like me.
We got it about 6 weeks ago, though, and at first I was thrilled. Up and running in a snap. Connecting to our wireless was problem free. I mentioned this was our first tablet and I don't have a droid or iphone (a flip phone, remember those!), so I can't compare it to much. There are tons of apps available in the market. The graphics are great. The screen seems fine as far as accuracy for touch (on the internet, it can be frustrating to click on the wrong thing unless you keep magnifying the page. I think this is all about screen size, and so I wonder how everybody stands it on a tiny smartphone screen). Games are fun. I finally understand all fuss about Angry Birds, addictive. It's nice to have something to use when the wife and kids are on the computers.
The bad: Firstly, why does the whole family have to be on some device?
Battery life sucks. Honestly, about two hours from charged overnight and longer. That's why I haven't bothered to take it to bed and use as a reader like I thought I would.
Some apps don't work. All I can say for sure is compass and level apps don't. I'm a carpenter who has expensive and accurate levels for working with, but I was kind of mad when I found level apps I couldn't "play" with. It doesn't have the technology.
One day, the screen went all white. I was scared to, but eventually I used a piece of wire for the reset button. It worked, but I've probably had to do it 20 times since. I can't exactly say the need to reset is getting more frequent since the first time, but I'm sort of convinced that someday that won't work. We'll see.

If you want an iPad but want to spend less than $200, this is the one!
By Leo USA
At the end of last year, there were rumors that Apple was going to release a 7" iPad. The reason for that rumor was people saw the first generation of the woPad. It has an Apple unibody-style enclosure made of aluminum, with a very thin, stylish, and high-end look and feel. The tablet itself is running Android 2.1, and is very fast. However, there are some drawbacks. For example, it doesn't support Flash, Skype video calls, and 3D games. I bought one and I like it very much, but I was also looking for its next generation.
This 2nd generation woPad, called woPad i7, fixed all those shortcomings. It is running the new generation ARM Cortex A8 CPU, which has a GPU built in. The woPad i7 is very fast and has smooth video when playing 3D games, like "Angry Birds". This tablet runs Android v2.3 and supports Skype video calls. Skype is actually the top feature that people want on their tablet.
The woPad i7 supports Flash, so you can play YouTube videos. You can also connect the tablet to your big screen TV using an HDMI cable (mini-HDMI to HDMI). It is very impressive to see those 1080P HD videos on a big screen.
Most of the Android tablets are using a resistive touch screen. This model uses a capacitive touch screen like the one used on the iPhone and iPad. It supports the 5-point multi-touch. This makes a huge difference. Many people return their Android tablet simply because they are not used to the resistive touch. The capacitive touch screen is much more sensitive but also much more expensive, that's why you only see it on the more high-end models.
Another extra benefit of the woPad i7 is the software bundle. It comes with the "Documents to Go" software pre-installed, which would cost $15 if you bought it from the Android Market.
Like any other tablets made by factories in China, there is no address of the factory or bar code on the box, but the packaging quality is very good compared to other tablets from China.
The other models with similar hardware configurations are all in the $300 range. This one has the best quality and the cheapest price. I like it very much, and I can see the woPad i7 becoming a very popular tablet in U.S.
Items to note:
1. You won't be able download all apps in the Android Market and your default Google browser may crash on some websites. Those problems are Google Android software bugs and have nothing to do with this tablet. If you are an Android fan, you will understand this. If you dislike these issues, you should go spend $550 and purchase an iPad.
2. You may have problems connecting with some Wi-Fi routers. In general the Wi-Fi in the tablet should be working, so the problem is the compatibility. As you see from the product description, this tablet supports Wi-Fi standard 102.1 b/g, not "a and n". If it doesn't work for your Wi-Fi, your Wi-Fi is probably old and you may need an upgrade. You can try your tablet in your friend's home or at your office before you conclude there is a Wi-Fi problem in this tablet.
3. Set the right expectations. Don't use iPad standards to judge this tablet. Keep in mind you are paying about 1/3 of the price of an iPad.
4. This tablet was designed originally for the Chinese market. You can set the language to English. If you see the Chinese language in some apps, just ignore it. Download apps yourself from the Android Market.
5. Do your own research. You can Google "woPad i7", and you will see plenty of news and reviews about this tablet.

Great tablet, but do your homework
By wyoenergy
Instructions that come with woPad are useless. Android market would not recognize at first, but did firmware update[...] and works great! It was pretty easy to do update, step by step instructions come with it. Camera is ok as are speakers. This is an awesome little tablet! I've streamed HD to my tv, hooked up a mouse and keyboard to make easier to use. For $200, It's awful hard to beat as long as you're a little tech savvy. For those that aren't, have a friend help you and you won't regret it!
