Velocity- The Little Tablet that almost could.
By Teqnopagan
I'm frustrated by the T508. It's exactly the right size (about the size of a hardback book). It's lightweight and LOOKs great.
But It just can't pull the load..
I wanted a tablet for reading mostly, I like a tablet bigger than a 7" which is about paperback book size to my viewpoint. 7' at least stylistically is just too small. A 10 inch is too big, like reading LOOK magazine.
8" works best for me.
But the performance. Ye gods. Apps freeze, some don't start. Some start and then shut down. Even with 1g of memory. The only explaination is that the processesor is simply not up to the job. One corner cut too many.
Books read well. Videos play acceptably with some coaxing. No access to Google Play without unrooting, which then cancels your access to the native Amazon Appstore.
I nice idea. Poorly executed. I traded up to a Lenovo A2109, 9.4 inch which is still a good reading size but a bit big for video playback. The price is within my budget.
I say goodbye to Velocity Micro. I really hope you make good computers because your tablets are not anything to crow about.
I also notice that you can't buy a T508 on Amazon anymore. That should tell you something.
